Nearlife Names Veteran Entertainment Executives to Top Creative and Marketing Roles

Cambridge, MA – June 9, 2000 – Nearlife Inc., a leader in developing new forms of entertainment that immerse audiences in "near life" experiences, today announced the appointments of David Zung to art director and Jim Brady to director of marketing and sales. An accomplished art director and fine artist, Zung will oversee the production and design of virtual characters for Nearlife's growing line of interactive entertainment projects. Recognized for innovative Web branding for leading companies such as Disney and ABC Sports, Brady will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for marketing and sales programs to expand the company's unique brand of entertainment services.

"David and Jim bring Nearlife more than 30 years of creative and marketing experience," said Tinsley Galyean, co-founder and CEO, Nearlife. "As we continue to accelerate our development of immersive Living Entertainment models, especially through the Internet, both David and Jim will be invaluable in making sure our products are highly-creative and reach more and more customers."

Zung brings more than 20 years of experience in art and character design to Nearlife. He has worked with major networks like MTV and Nickelodeon as well as leading animation and computer graphics production companies like R/Greenberg Productions and Curious pictures. The appointment follows his successful completion in1999 of the design for Nearlife's fantasy children's bedroom exhibit KidsRoom2 -a popular attraction at the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, England.

Most recently, Zung served as art director for a network television animated series produced for Warner Brothers. An accomplished painter, he is now preparing for a fall, 2000 solo exhibition of his paintings in New York City.

Zung holds a BA in architecture from Princeton University and studied at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London, and Parsons School of Design. In addition, he studied classical drawing, painting, and portraiture at the New York Academy of Art, the National Academy of Arts, the School of Visual Arts, and the Art Students League.

Jim Brady comes to Nearlife after serving in executive positions at various online, advertising and multimedia companies. Most recently, he was marketing and sales manager at US Direct, an Internet Website development company, where he developed strategies for brand identity and Website promotion for companies including ABC Sports, Disney Interactive, AOL and Boston Magazine.

As marketing and sales manager for a Newton, MA ad agency, Brady was part of a team that specialized in building sophisticated, multi-company strategic alliances with companies in a wide range of industries. Brady helped companies like Canon, Minolta, Texas Instruments, American Airlines, and Radisson Hotels develop highly creative strategies to market a variety of products and services.

Brady's production experience includes projects for Bank of Boston, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Shawmut Bank. His responsibilities included script writing, original photography and graphic design.

Brady holds a BS from LeMoyne College and an MA from Colgate University.
